What is AEO ?
The AEO concept is based on the Customs-to-Business partnership introduced by the World Customs Organisation (WCO).
It’s work in close cooperation with customs authorities to assure the common objective of supply chain security are entitled to enjoy benefits throughout the EU.
This implies that there must always be a relationship between customs and the applicant/AEO.
This relationship must be based on the principles of mutual transparency, correctness, fairness and responsibility.
The advantages brought by the status are numerous. Beyond the facilities granted by the legislation on the customs level, the certification process has been structuring for our company.
It allowed us to evaluate and then control our customs processes.
Our organization has been optimized by taking into account customs and logistics functions, better communication between employees and the implementation or improvement of our readability and internal control tools.
Next step : the security and safety (AEOS) aspect.
The next step for us is the application for AEO-F (full) certification in 2024: including AEO-C (customs simplification), which we have just obtained, and AEO-S (safety/security).
In order to meet the requirements of the second part of the OAS, we had to put in place measures to secure our site (surveillance cameras, access to the premises by badge, etc.).
And thus guarantee the security of our freight.
